Meet Emma
Emma (she/her) is a dedicated yoga teacher and lifelong student, with over twenty years of practice, seven years of teaching experience, and thousands of hours of training. Before settling in Castlemaine, she taught at some of Melbourne’s leading studios, including Eve, Kindred Movement, and The Light Practice.
Her classes are intentional, strong, and dynamic, weaving breath, body, community, and self into each practice. Students often describe her teaching as empowering, educational, and above all, fun. Emma has a particular interest in trauma-informed approaches, LGBTQIA+ inclusion in yoga, and using practice as a way to support communities in solidarity.
Grounded in respect for yoga’s traditions, Emma acknowledges both the complexities of modern practice and the cultural forces of colonialism, patriarchy, and capitalism that shape it today. Beyond yoga, she works in social justice, policy, and gender equity.
Off the mat, Emma can often be found swimming in the Res, bushwalking with her dog Bunny, dancing, or unwinding with reality TV alongside her beloved wife
