Meet Emma

Emma (she/her) is an experienced yoga teacher with over 20 years of practice and 7 years of teaching. Before moving to Castlemaine, she taught at top studios in Melbourne ; Eve, Kindred Movement, and The Light Practice and a number of gyms and community spaces. She has completed 1000’s of hours of training with Creature Yoga, Eve, Bess Presscot, RARE Yoga, Yoga for HumanKind, Kindred Movement, Here Yoga, and Janet Stone. Emma also has a Certificate IV in fitness and is currently studying how to incorporate TCM within the Yoga modality.

Her classes are strong, thoughtful, and lively, focusing on breath, body, community, and self. Students find her teaching empowering, educational, and fun. She is especially interested in trauma-informed yoga, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and using yoga to support community solidarity.

Emma deeply respects the rich traditions of yoga while remaining mindful of the significant impacts that modern issues such as colonialism, patriarchy, and capitalism have had on the practice. Beyond her dedication to yoga, she actively works in fields related to social justice, policy development, and gender equity, striving to create equitable and just changes in society. In her free time, Emma enjoys swimming, bushwalking with her dogs Merv & Bunny, and watching reality TV with her wife.
