Yin Yoga @ OTM

In Yin yoga, poses are held for 5-7 minutes, but here we often stay longer—about 10-15 minutes. Props and gentle hands-on assists help your body relax fully. This practice targets the fascia and connective tissues, promoting stillness and mindfulness.

Each class ends with a 15-minute guided savasana (deep rest) to help you absorb the benefits. You’ll be guided through breath awareness and simple meditation techniques.

Class details:

  • Duration: 75 minutes

  • Props provided; bring your mat

  • Modifications and alternatives available

Yin yoga encourages slowing down and softening. It’s a gentle, calming practice ideal for relieving stress, soothing tired bodies, and offering quiet for the heart. It supports those dealing with burnout, chronic illness, pregnancy, or injury (with care), as well as anyone needing stillness.

It’s especially helpful for people who care for others—parents, carers, busy people—providing a chance to rest, breathe, and rebuild inner balance. Yin yoga is a gentle, accessible practice for most people..

Class Styles

Vinyasa: Strong, dynamic, and fast, these classes are often based around a 'peak pose' which may include arm balances, backbends, and inversions. These classes are designed for students who are comfortable with a fast pace, however, there are options given throughout.

Yin: In Yin yoga, postures (asanas) are held for longer periods of time, supported by props to allow your body to fully soften and release. This practice works deeply into the fascia and connective tissues while encouraging stillness and mindful presence.

ALL classes are suitable for pregnant folks :)

Classes are suitable for people with disabilities, please contact Emma to discuss different access needs, modifications, and ways that we can make the practice accessible to your mind/ bod.
